The Case:  On 9th October 2016 Mr Toby Chaplin ("the Claimant") sustained catastrophic injuries in a road traffic accident caused by the negligent driving of Mr Ben Pistol, insured by Allianz Insurance Plc ("the Defendant"). The Claimant, who was aged 28 at the time, suffered a very severe traumatic brain injury with tetraplegia, and is wholly dependent on others for his care needs. His life expectancy has been significantly reduced.
