How to respond to questions
In many proceedings, after the exchange of expert reports, the parties will have the opportunity to put written questions to the opposing expert for the purpose of clarifying their report. Responding to written questions is an important part of providing expert evidence – it is a chance to restate your opinion and to clarify anything that might not have been fully understood in your report. It might even lead you to reevaluate your opinion if there is something raised in the written questions that you had not considered or were not aware of.
