EWI Refreshes Core Training offering

byHeather George

The Expert Witness Institute (EWI) is excited to announce a refresh of its core training offering, designed to provide expert witnesses with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in their practice.

Key Changes:

Course title changes

  • “Expert Essentials” is now rebranded as “Becoming an Expert Witness: Your First Steps,” offering a comprehensive introduction to the role.

  • “Report Writing 1” has been renamed “Basics of Report Writing,” while “Report Writing 2” is now titled “Beyond the Basics: Advanced Report Writing for Experts.”

Trainer Updates:

  • We bid farewell to Giles Eyre, who has made significant contributions to our training programs. We welcome Josef Cannon KC as our new trainer for advanced report writing, and Beth Rigby will join forces with Jessica Thurston to deliver expert discussions, following Giles’ and Alison Somek’s retirements.

  • In addition to our core training and following Giles’ retirement, we also welcome Sam Makkan to our panel of trainers. A member of the EWI board, and a distinguished Rule of Law, Justice Sector, and Access to Justice Specialist, Sam will deliver our 2-part Confidence in the Courtroom webinar.

Content updates:

  • Refreshed Law for Experts: Our “Law for Experts” 2-part webinar has been updated to include the latest legal developments.

These changes reflect EWI’s commitment to delivering high-quality, up-to-date training that meets the evolving needs of expert witnesses. By investing in our training programs, you can enhance your skills, boost your confidence, and elevate your expert witness practice.
